IBGH - INTERNATIONAL COMPANION DOG TESTS

The training of assistance dogs has been offered by numerous association bodies for many years. The requirements can be found in the Austrian Examination Regulations (ÖPO) and the International Working Dog Examination Regulations (IGP).

The training of assistance dogs primarily serves the basic training of dogs. They should behave well “in everyday life” and work together with their people.

It is offered in levels 1 to 3 and includes obedience exercises in easy, medium and higher levels of difficulty.

In the meantime, companion dog training has become a popular dog sport.

Hints:
Like any other exam, the IBGH should not be trained exclusively according to the examination regulations. It should also be noted that dogs include the environment in the learning process. Therefore, you should not only practice at the apprenticeship place!

Visual signals are no longer allowed in the IBGH!
